Hola, me llamo Irmelo Lorenzo Gertze, aunque la mayoría de la gente me llama simplemente Lorenzo. Soy guía turístico en Swakopmund desde 2015, compartiendo las historias del pueblo donde crecí y del país que amo. Siempre me ha fascinado la historia (cómo los acontecimientos moldearon lugares, personas y culturas) y disfruto dando vida a esas historias para los visitantes. Ser guía me ha dado la oportunidad de conocer viajeros de todo el mundo. Cada encuentro es un intercambio: comparto la historia y las tradiciones de Namibia, a la vez que aprendo de las perspectivas de mis huéspedes. Con el tiempo, he adoptado una filosofía sencilla: la vida nos coloca exactamente donde debemos estar. Para mí, ese lugar está aquí: dándoles la bienvenida a Swakopmund y ayudándolos a descubrir su belleza, historia y espíritu.
Lorenzo was a great guide, friendly, passionate and super knowledgeable about Swakopmund's history. He gave us an in-depth tour of local landmarks along with his insights as a lifelong resident of the town, from the stories behind historic buildings to a climb up the local watch-tower, Damara tower. A morning well spent before heading off to Sossusvlei!
Lorenzo was a very good guide, smooth description of monuments and history (not a speech know by heart), and made special arrangements to visit the church and go up the tower that were very appreciated! Thank you
We had an excellent GuruWalk in Swakopmund with Lorenzo on Sunday morning. Walking through the city while discovering the different places, architecture, and fascinating history behind how Swakopmund was built made the experience truly special. Lorenzo knows an incredible amount about the city and shares everything in a very engaging and enjoyable way. It was the perfect Sunday morning stroll — relaxed, informative, and full of interesting stories and historical details.
