Hi! I’m Ken 👋 A licensed Malaysian tourist guide and a Penang local who loves uncovering the stories hidden behind the streets of George Town. After more than 20 years in the corporate world, I decided to trade meetings and PowerPoint slides for something I genuinely enjoy — meeting travelers and bringing Penang’s history to life. Today, I’m a full-time tour guide, and I’ve never been happier to call the streets of George Town my “office”! 😄 I’m especially fascinated by the stories that most visitors never hear: how early Chinese immigrants survived and built new lives here, the rise of clan associations and secret societies, gang rivalries, and the dramatic events that helped shape George Town. But don’t worry — this isn’t a history lecture! We tell these stories while standing in the actual streets, temples and clan buildings where they happened. Together with my fellow licensed guides, CC Ang and Eve, we each bring our own personality and storytelling style to the walk, but we share one goal: to show you a side of George Town that goes far beyond street art and great food. Oh, and I’m also a mother of two teenagers — so I’ve had plenty of extra training in patience, negotiation and handling unexpected questions! 😆 Come walk with us.
