Hi, my name is István! I was born and raised in Hungary and I am happy to call Budapest my home for over 10 years now.
I have a huge love for this city and I would like to show you why!
In Budapest everything tells a story.
Being a professional musician and a licensed tour guide combined with a great love for history, I will tell you this story from a totally unique perspective.
I have been to over 40 countries so far myself, I love learning about and experiencing new cultures because I think that’s the best way to broaden our horizon.
That’s why my tours are quite interactive and I highly encourage everyone to participate and ask as many questions as you have. (I might even reward some people from the group! 😉 ) Remember there is no such thing as a dumb question!

This was one of the best walking tours I have taken. Istvan was very knowledgeable, kept the tour very entertaining, gave little local chocolate treats along the way. This is not your usual city history tour but a lot of fun! Even our 14 year old was engaged! 100% recommend! Thank you Istvan!
Very informative. Encouraged lots of questions. Lots of interaction and prizes given for correct answers. Paced the walk according to the needs of the group members. Very good mixture of historical facts without getting political. Thoroughly enjoyable and would definitely recommend.
I can’t emphasize enough what a great tour Istvan provides! He’s very personable and engaging with everyone, while delivering really interesting and informative historical details about Hungary’s past. And I love that he’s still an independent professional tour guide - he can share more controversial perspectives on some of the local monuments, but he still does it in an objective, open way that is historically accurate.
