Hi, my name is István! I was born and raised in Hungary and I am happy to call Budapest my home for over 10 years now.
I have a huge love for this city and I would like to show you why!
In Budapest everything tells a story.
Being a professional musician and a licensed tour guide combined with a great love for history, I will tell you this story from a totally unique perspective.
I have been to over 40 countries so far myself, I love learning about and experiencing new cultures because I think that’s the best way to broaden our horizon.
That’s why my tours are quite interactive and I highly encourage everyone to participate and ask as many questions as you have. (I might even reward some people from the group! 😉 ) Remember there is no such thing as a dumb question!

Had an amazing time in this free walking tour. Istvan is very charismatic and does a massive effort to keep everyone interested and having a great time. 100% would recommend doing the tour with him. Definitely if im in budapest again I would do any of the other tours he offers.
My wife and I both enjoyed our food tour with Itsvan (sp?). He brought us through the Central Market and to various other spots to test typical Hungarian foods. He told us a bit of the history of the foods and some personal stories. Be prepared to eat meat including pork products.
This was an excellent tour! István was very engaging and personable, and he did a great job of giving history and context, along with family stories and memories, so that we could better understand the city. There were trivia questions and games (we competed for Hungarian candy bars), jokes, and great local recommendations. This was definitely the best tour I've had from someone on GuruWalk.
the trip itself was really successful we were already in the past in a few trips This trip was the best of the following: - dishes that we don't know - an intimate group with conversation between group members - a guide at eye level who was fun to talk to about other things as well in short - very successful Please note that this is not kosher or Halal food and is not suitable for vegetarians.
