Joao was terrific. There were only the two of us on this tour and he did a full, professional tour the whole way. He was very informative and easy to talk with. Not only did we feel completely comfortable with him but his tour was full of knowledge and interesting tidbits. We learned so much about Coimbra and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Highly recommend!
Ended up just being João, myself, and partner. He was very thorough and informative. I appreciated his level of enthusiasm around his city and what it has to offer. Would definitely recommend this tour for people arriving to Coimbra as João covers all the essentials then sets you up with some of the more interesting and fringe experiences that most passers by skip. It is very hilly tour, but inevitable if you are going to walk to the university.
Joao was fabulous! He made us want to stay in Coimbra forever! We got a taste for the local culture, recommendations for places to visit, local history, restaurants and bakeries with local specialties, and knowledge of the local celebrations. He blended the old history to the current area. We will be recommending this tour with Joao to our friends traveling to Portugal!
