Joao Mendez was excellent and very informative. Since he is a native, he had a lot of local information to share. He went beyond allowed time and gave us tips on cuisine as well. My family and I were just sad that Coimbra isn't advertised much, however Joao was the perfect guide to have.
A very informative tour full of history concerning the city and country
Joao was great at making lemonade out of lemons! It was pouring rain and windy for most of our tour. We were the only guests who showed up and Joao gave us a great tour despite the awful weather conditions. We learned a lot about the history and culture of the city.
5 stars! João exceeded my expectations! - I take walking tours in every city I visit, and João was one of the best guides I’ve had. What set him apart was his personal connection to the city... as a local, he shared his own experiences and interests, which made the tour feel much more authentic than the usual scripted presentations. I was so caught up in the experience that I forgot to take photos! He also left me with a long list of topics to explore further. If you're looking for a tour that’s informative, personal, and unique, I highly recommend João!
