Thank you for booking and for visiting Coimbra. As it says on the website and as I said during my visit, it's not possible to avoid going uphill in the city. You need to be willing, patient and enjoy walking around and getting to know the city. I'm sorry that wasn't fully understood. If people don't have that kind of willingness and understanding, as I say, it's still worth taking a tour. I tried to walk as calmly as possible to make it as easy as possible. The city has a lot of history and traditions, there were many suggestions for things to do in the city and the country, and many of these things cannot be avoided on the tour. Otherwise, we wouldn't have left the downtown area and the tour would have taken 45 minutes!

Coimbra is a beautiful city and João is a wonderful guide - he is knowledgeable, friendly, and very accommodating. We were very lucky to be on our own with him and he was careful to go slow and take breaks for my parents, who have some mobility issues. The route was also great - some of the old town, up to the university, and then through the botanical gardens. João gave us a great mix of history, culture, and recommendations (food and shopping). Please book João for your trip to Coimbra!

Thank you to visit coimbra. I did my best to speak English as slowly as possible, and I didn't succeed, but they could have asked me something I didn't understand. It became impossible not to do better, as soon as a tourist decided to make constant sad comments about the tour, which wasted my time, and who didn't understand the mechanics of a tour and how the city worked. I couldn't do any more. I'm sorry you never got to see more of the city, and that you didn't get to hear a few more stories

João was an excellent guide who shared with us so much information about Coimbra, and could also answer a lot of our additional questions about things related to architecture and the economic activities that contributed to this small but hilly university town. The tour covered a lot of ground, and while we could manage it, do not that even though João was kind enough to take things at a slow pace as we climbed our way upwards to the top of Coimbra where the university is, it is still quite a long walking tour so do have comfy walking shoes on. All in all a very comprehensive and educational tour that covered many key locations.
