Ferhat

Great tour, Ferhat was fun to talk to and engaging. He had a lot of tit bits and information as well about the Kadikoy area. My only bit of feedback is that the tour should incorporate more food stops. I understand there could be challenges to that, but I would have liked to sample a bit more Turkish food and not just get recommendations.

Fascinating two-hours tour in Kadiköy, the finest district of Istanbul to get acquainted with Turkish culture and food, both the casual daily one and the higher end one. Ferhat provided a good historical and cultural background of the neighborhood before taking us in a lovely labyrinth of pleasant discoveries for our senses. Once the tour is completed, just in time for sunset over the Bosphorus, you feel confident browsing the richness of turkish cuisine, choosing from one of the many options introduced to you on the tour. Forget Taksim and Old City: this is the neighborhood you wished you had spent most of your stay in. Absolutely recommended!

Farhat provided a fun and interesting look at culture on the Asian side through food. He gave lots of tidbits about local places to eat as well as some information on local life and history.

Ferhat’s food tour of the Asian neighbourhood is a refreshing experience full of local spots. It was a welcome escape from the overly touristy European side and I highly recommend it for those visiting Istanbul for more than a few days. Only downside of the tour is we didn’t get to taste a lot of food, we only tried the food at 1 or 2 spots, I would have like to have samples of the food at a few more places
