Giklik

Giklik was a fantastic guide who has a lot of knowledge about Zanzibar and its history. He adapted the tour to our needs and he has a wonderful and friendly style of talking to people. We would definitely recommend a tour with him when you are in town!

Our tour with Giklik was amazing. We can highly recommend him to any other guest. He is a local, a lot of people in town know him. He was there on time, showed us arround to the highlights of stone town and gave us a good inside behind the scenes. Much better than expected! On top he offered to take us to his village where he showed us what Zanzibar life is all about. Very impressive for us was to visit the local school. At the end we invited him for lunch and can highly recommend this great experience (village tour) as well. Thank you Giklik, Susanne and Axel (Germany)

Thanks to Giklik I saw the whole town in a few hours! He knows a lot about history and he can answer any question. Recommended!

We made a last minute booking on Guruwalk and Khamis (Giklik) was kind enough to accommodate our request. He was on time to meet us at our hotel. He knows Stonetown inside out and also in-depth history of Zanzibar. It was a quick (2.5 hours) and informative history lesson. He also knows the history of the old buildings (which ones were previously embassies etc). His tour is neither flash nor patronising. If you want a well dressed guide who only tells you all the good things about Stonetown then Khamis (Giklik) is not your guy. He is a down-to-earth guide who shows/tells the good, the bad and the ugly sides of Stonetown. He'll take you to stinky local markets and not-so-clean back alleys, so that you can get the real local experience. Isn't that what we all want from a real local walking tour? Be sure to give him a generous tip at the end of your tour.
