Sono un figlio di sesta generazione nato a Bokaap. La nostra comunità è discendente di schiavi ed esuli politici dall'estremo oriente. Mi piacerebbe mostrarvi il nostro quartiere. Ho un forte legame con la comunità più ampia. Sono un direttore della Bokaap Tourism Association e un direttore del Bokaap Helpers Garden, un'organizzazione non governativa della città che si concentra sul giardinaggio comunitario. What a great chance to have a tour of culturally significant place with a local! Ilyas was special as we really get to hear from his experiences, we didn’t just take pics of the colorful houses, we went inside listening to the stories and really felt like a special tour. Muhammad kommt aus der Community in Bo-Kaap und erzählt daher sehr authentisch und auf sympathische und offener Art von der Geschichte und auch von seinen Erfahrungen als Einheimischer dieses Viertels. Das war wirklich sehr informativ und wir haben viel mitgenommen. Sein Englisch ist auch sehr gut, sodass wir alles gut verstanden haben.
