I'm a 6th generation son born in the Bokaap. Our community are decendants of slaves and political exiles from the far east as a registered guide in Cape town I offer walking tours in the citybowl and bokaap sharing our communities history and culture with the world I'd love to show you around our neighborhood. I have a strong connection to the broader community. I'm a director of the bokaap tourism association and a director of Bokaap helpers garden. which is a NPO in the city focusing on community gardening. Have an intimate knowledge of Robben Island as a lived there for over 10 years too.

Ilyas gave me a private tour in Bo-Kaap. He told me very impressively about the story of Bo-Kaap. He showed me the oldest mosques and introduced me to some of his friends and family. I was even able to try the Koesister specialty, which was incredibly delicious. I can only advise everyone to book a tour with Ilyas. It will be very informative and delicious. A very engaging tour, aided by Muhammad's generational knowledge and experience of living in the area - he had a unique insight that made the experience even more special.
