I'm a 6th generation son born in the Bokaap the only guru from the area and the still based in bokaap with deep historical roots in the area. Our community are decendants of slaves and political exiles from the far east as a registered guide in Cape town I offer walking tours in the citybowl and bokaap sharing our communities history and culture with the world I'd love to show you around our neighborhood. I have a strong connection to the broader community. I'm a director of the bokaap tourism association and a director of Bokaap helpers garden. which is a NPO in the city focusing on community gardening. Have an intimate knowledge of Robben Island as a lived there for over 10 years too.

It was a very nice experience with Ilyas. He showed every detail of the neighborhood and contextualized it with the history of the city. We made a stop at an acquaintance's house to eat a homemade cake. We love the whole experience. I recommend it!
