Wonderful tour. It was my first food tour and I was worried about portions and cost but everything went well! And i loved that we added sightseeing and historical facts and it was not just about food.

Wenqi is an amazing guide! There are hundreds of places to eat and it’s difficult to make a decision on your own. Way better to have a guide born in Xi’an show you the best places!

The tour ended up only being my friend and I and Wenqi planned such an amazing route tailored to our taste. The day before the tour she sent us a questionnaire asking about food preferences and tastes and then she planned the perfect route. On the day she was easy to find and took us to the most amazing places while also telling us all about the culture. Finally, she also took the time to send us recommendations of different cafes and shops around the city. I would highly recommend this tour!!

Wenqi was a wonderful guide, showing us the best local spots for around 7 dishes which were all delicious. Wenqi is very friendly and knowledgeable, which made the tour even better as we were able to ask questions, keep good conversation with the entire group, and learn more about local and Chinese culture.

EXCELLENT food tour. YunYun really knows where to go and what to eat in Xi'an. I would take another tour with her in a second. We went to several places, all with fantastic food. She has in depth knowledge of the Muslim quarter Xi'an and the food. Friendly and fun personality and made everyone feel welcome and interested. Have to admit I was a little bummed when I found out she had a breakfast tour eariler that day - take both! I would have, had I had time! It was even a little sad to leave our little group at the end! 10/10!

Great experience with tasty food. There are soooooo many places in the area, so it's great to have them curated. Yunyun is really nice and fosters a fun group environment.

Writing this review a couple of months late - sorry Wenqi! This tour was a fantastic introduction to Xi'an's incredible culinary scene. We got a chance to sample several different dishes at very local "hole in the wall" type establishments that we never would have found ourselves. The food was absolutely unbelievable. Wenqi is a friendly, enthusiastic guide who speaks excellent English. She clearly has a lot of knowledge about Xi'an and its cuisine. Highly, highly recommended!

AMAZING tour. I was making a YouTube video in the city and I've had such good luck with other Guru guides I hoped it would be the case here. We were the only 2 on the tour so basically a private tour and Wenqi was so accommodating being on camera and wearing a mic. I learned so much on the tour that helped us navigate the crazy streets, knowing little signs for what was a tourist trap and what was truly local. And she also gave us recommendations for places on our own - the coffee shop was just what we needed after a hectic day filming. Thank you so much!

Yunyun was an unbelievable tour guide. She went above and beyond to show us corners of Xi’An you’d never see yourself - and speaks incredible English. Plus the food was delicious! Would recommend this tour to anyone traveling to the city.

Great opportunity to sample a variety of foods which are shared between the group. Small group size was great. The guide was lovely and not pushy like others. I would highly recommend.

What a wonderful food tour with Wenji! The weather was a bit drizzly but we were treated to exciting sights and aromas along the streets from the restaurants we passed and visited. Wenji had lots of information on the culture and origins of food in the area. We tasted many dishes, drinks and desserts. She has a great personality, good English and really looked after the group well. We learnt a lot and had a lot of laughs! Really fun. Thanks for the soda treat. It is best to come hungry on the tour!

My boyfriend and I can’t recommend this food tour enough - it’s a real gem! Wenqi is an amazing guide: she took us from one spot to another through the streets of Xi’an’s Muslim Quarter, giving us a deeper insight into the city’s culture and daily life. The tour goes through the less touristy streets of the neighborhood, stopping at Wenqi’s personal favorite food spots, where she used to eat with her family as a child. Thanks to this, we were able to enjoy a truly authentic experience (and of course delicious local food). Wenqi is kind, knowledgeable and fun, and thanks to her there was never a dull moment. Simply put: try this tour and you won’t be disappointed!

We had a fantastic experience, Yunyun was an excellent guide, incredibly knowledgeable about Xi’an, its history, food, culture, and local traditions, while also being great fun to spend time with. What made the experience truly special was that she took us to places we would never have discovered on our own as tourists, authentic local restaurants and food spots where Xi’an residents actually eat. We tried a wide variety of dishes, with different alternatives and flavors throughout the evening, all of them delicious and very well prepared. The tour felt authentic, relaxed, and thoughtfully curated from beginning to end. We couldn’t recommend it more highly. 100% recommended!
