Xi'An Food Tour

Great opportunity to sample a variety of foods which are shared between the group. Small group size was great. The guide was lovely and not pushy like others. I would highly recommend.

What a wonderful food tour with Wenji! The weather was a bit drizzly but we were treated to exciting sights and aromas along the streets from the restaurants we passed and visited. Wenji had lots of information on the culture and origins of food in the area. We tasted many dishes, drinks and desserts. She has a great personality, good English and really looked after the group well. We learnt a lot and had a lot of laughs! Really fun. Thanks for the soda treat. It is best to come hungry on the tour!

My boyfriend and I can’t recommend this food tour enough - it’s a real gem! Wenqi is an amazing guide: she took us from one spot to another through the streets of Xi’an’s Muslim Quarter, giving us a deeper insight into the city’s culture and daily life. The tour goes through the less touristy streets of the neighborhood, stopping at Wenqi’s personal favorite food spots, where she used to eat with her family as a child. Thanks to this, we were able to enjoy a truly authentic experience (and of course delicious local food). Wenqi is kind, knowledgeable and fun, and thanks to her there was never a dull moment. Simply put: try this tour and you won’t be disappointed!

We had a fantastic experience, Yunyun was an excellent guide, incredibly knowledgeable about Xi’an, its history, food, culture, and local traditions, while also being great fun to spend time with. What made the experience truly special was that she took us to places we would never have discovered on our own as tourists, authentic local restaurants and food spots where Xi’an residents actually eat. We tried a wide variety of dishes, with different alternatives and flavors throughout the evening, all of them delicious and very well prepared. The tour felt authentic, relaxed, and thoughtfully curated from beginning to end. We couldn’t recommend it more highly. 100% recommended!

Yunyun led such a fantastic food tour! Not only did she show us local Xi’an food but also provided historical facts about the city as well. Her English is great and she even gave us a calligraphy bookmark that she made at the end! I would absolutely recommend her tour! Thank you again Yunyun, see you next time! :)

Excellent tour and really informative. Guide is wonderfully friendly and offers extra spots to return and get even more local foods, and is fascinating to talk to re: Chinese culture, language & history too.

The tour was great, we enjoyed all the food that were introduced to us. We enjoyed it so much that we went back to the restaurants a second time.

BEST food tour we have ever done...and we have done a lot. You can tell Wenqi spent a lot of time curating and refining the tour and even took into account guest preferences. We learned ALOT and left with happy bellies. It was amazing to tour such a touristy place with a local - ensuring we tasted the best of the best! 15/10 recommend joining this tour.

This was a great way to learn more about the food in Xi’an - Wenqi was an awesome guide who took us to less touristy places where the food was really yummy and affordable. She also sent through many other recommendations for us to check out during the rest of our stay. I definitely recommend this tour

The tour was amazing! You absolutely must visit when you’re here. I felt like I was exploring places that locals frequent, and I had a truly memorable experience. If you decide to take the tour, be mindful of portion sizes, as they can add up quickly. The guide was incredibly friendly and easy to converse with. I highly recommend the food tour! :)

Yun is a great guide, took us about 6 to 8 local Xi'an cuisine in a night, which will not be possible if we're on our own. She did expain a bit or two about the history of Muslim quarters and the origin of the food. Overall, I am happy with this tour.

Wenqi showed us streets and tastes we never would have found on our on in the Muslim quarter. She is fun and informative, a must do your when visiting Xi’An.

Wenqi is AMAZING, foodie indeed i belive she has a PHD in noodle-odogly because she really know about her food she was super fun to be with her knowledge of a true local foodie is another level. We ate alot and she explained everything with details all yhe food was delicious my favorite was the yogurt a MUST to try and my wifes favorite was the meatballs soup. But honestky everything was amazing. We are visiting Xi'an at de beginning of lunar new Years celebration and she took us yo a very busy and exciting tour around the Muslim quarter. We visited about 8 different places and really enjoyed a variety of foods but off the beaten track. The stops included sweet and savoury, hot and cold and suited all our tastes. The joy of a tour like this is sharing the experience with other food loving people. There are just soooo many alley ways and food stalls to stop at I’m so pleased the decision was made for us. A wonderful way to explore Xian and the different food offerings
