I tesori nascosti di Phnom Penh: un tour guidato a piedi tra storia, arte, mercati e vita locale

This was a wonderful and incredibly informative tour. I knew very little about Cambodia and was honestly shocked by its history. I knew the country had a difficult past, but I had no idea just how complex and tragic its history was. Martin did an excellent job of telling the story of the country throughout the centuries, putting everything into context and making it really interesting and easy to understand. I finished the tour feeling deeply impressed, and I’m still thinking about what I learned. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Cambodia. Thank you, Martin, for such an interesting and memorable experience!

Martin was a very experienced and well informed guide. It felt like we were on our own private tour! We learnt so much more about the history of the country that it enhanced our appreciation and understanding of everything else we saw on our trip.

I tesori nascosti di Phnom Penh: un tour guidato a piedi tra storia, arte, mercati e vita locale

We did this tour on our first day in Phnom Penh. It was fantastic, Martin was full of knowledge, answered any questions we had, gave recommendations for places to visit after the tour. Martin is definitely one of the best tour guides we've ever had. So much so that we did his Genocide Tour the following day which was even better! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in learning about Phnom Penh, and recommend Martin has a tour guide to anyone visiting for both tours!

Martin is truly a walking encyclopedia when it comes to Cambodia and its history and politics. He showed us a lot around Phnom Penh and even though there were a lot of historical facts it wasn’t tedious at all, quite the opposite. Definitely recommend to do the tour if you’re in the city.

Martin was very knowledgeable on the history of the genocide and Cambodia in general. He explained everything fully and was open to questions, which he answered excellently. He was very passionate on the topic and communicated this well. He was understanding that this is a difficult topic and took his time to ensure we got the most out of it. Highly recommended!

The tour with Martin was very informative and well organized. He took the time to explain us the events before, during and after the genocide enacted by the Pol Pot regime in a way that I could make the connections between the events of this complex topic. I would absolutely recommend visiting the killing fields and prison with the tour to gain a deeper understanding of these tragic events as it is a very heavy topic and visiting these places is an intense experience. Although it is not a typical walking tour because you need to go to the destinations by car, Martin made use of this time to give us information in preparation for the visits. Overall, a very well planned and thought out tour!

He also gave us valuable tips on what else we could do in the city. Definitely recommend if you want to see the citys landmarks and learn a lot about cambodian history.

I signed up for this free walking tour on a whim . Our guide was fantastic. He walked us through the history of Cambodia and of the city itself in a way that actually stuck, connecting the monuments we were standing in front of to the bigger story of what this country has been through. We covered pretty much all the main sights, so if you are new in town this is a brilliant way to get your bearings before exploring on your own. What really made it, though, was the guide's energy. We were a small group, which meant there was room for questions and real conversation instead of just following an umbrella around. He kept everyone engaged the whole way through, and I honestly could not believe it when I checked my watch at the end. Three hours had gone by and it felt like ten minutes. If you are in Phnom Penh, do this tour. Bring water, wear comfortable shoes, and tip your guide well. They earn it.
