Hi, I'm Norman. After three and a half years of traveling the world, visiting more than 110 countries, and experiencing countless GuruWalk tours in the craziest places around the globe, I have made Leiden my home of choice. Here, you quickly understand why the city is also called "Amsterdam without the crowds." I will show it to you just as I discovered it myself: beautiful canals and buildings, hidden courtyards, and the exciting history of Leiden. Of course, the culinary delights will not be neglected either.
Leiden gave birth to Rembrandt, hosted the Pilgrim Fathers before they even boarded the Mayflower, and survived a siege, the end of which is still celebrated every year on October 3rd with herring and white bread.
