We had a wonderful experience on this walking tour! Our guide was absolutely amazing—knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing the history and culture of the area. He made every stop interesting with fascinating stories and local insights, and were always happy to answer questions. We entered the Uzbekistan Hotel and had a walk in the park in front of it. The tour was well-organized, engaging, and the perfect pace. Thanks to Donat, we discovered places and details we would have completely missed on our own. In his blue folder, he has many pics he uses to tell story about every place! I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area. A truly memorable experience!

Great tour, very informative and fun

Donat’s tour is really something unique. We have participated in many walking tours globally, but this one is one we will remember. Donat speaks incredible English and was always prepared to go into more depth, and answer the political and cultural questions we had. He was funny and made sure we were comfortable the entire tour. As for the area, it really feels surreal being the only tourists there, as it is relatively unknown. Donat is doing a fantastic job of putting this district “on the map” — and rightfully so. If you’re interested in a unique experience in Tashkent that goes beyond the mainstream tourist attractions, you will not be disappointed with this tour led by Donat! It is marvellous that he launched this tour just a few months ago, as the professionalism was off the scale :)

The Soviet Evening Tour with Donat was absolutely fantastic and one of the highlights of my time in Tashkent. Donat is incredibly entertaining, knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Uzbekistan and the Soviet past of the city. The tour never felt dry or overloaded with facts — instead it was the perfect mix of storytelling, humor and fascinating historical context. I actually also joined his Old Town & Chorsu tour and would truly recommend doing both tours if you have enough time in Tashkent. You learn so much while having a genuinely great evening. I joined both the Old Town & Chorsu Bazaar tour and the Soviet Evening Tour with Donat — and honestly, I can recommend doing both if you have the time in Tashkent. The Old Town tour was such a great mix of history, local culture and fun experiences. Visiting Chorsu Bazaar was fascinating and one of the highlights was definitely getting to bake traditional bread ourselves. Donat explains everything in a very entertaining and engaging way, while also sharing so much knowledge about Tashkent and Uzbekistan. You can really tell he loves what he does. The perfect combination of education, humor and local insights. Highly recommended!

A great tour that gave us the chance to explore many different parts of the city. The route was varied and well planned, allowing us to see much more than just the main sights. Bakhtiyor was enthusiastic and shared plenty of interesting information about Tashkent and Usbekistan in genereal. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a broad introduction to the city! 😊

Doing the Tashkent mountain tour with Javlon was one of my best travel experiences. Javlon is not just an excellent tour guide but also a wonderful young man and human being. Even though I was the only one on this 4- to 5-hour tour, he did not cancel it, and moreover, he spent the entire day with me. He took me to beautiful places, including a local, roadside Uzbek eatery, the mountain resort, and the mausoleum of a Sufi Saint on the mountain top, etc. Javlon and I had very interesting and deep conversations on a variety of topics, and by the end of the tour, we became very good friends. I highly recommend going on a tour with Javlon for a very memorable experience.

Donat is very professional. His blue folder of photpcopies with background information was superb and filled in lots of material I had been wondering about: such as the role of cotton in the munitions industry, hence massive production during certain periods. He was also very well informed on the history of architecture, and willing to discuss issues beyond our immediate tour. He had great rapport with everyone we met, from skateboarders to market stallholders. Very patient with questions, never seemed to rush yet kept a good pace. Wide ranging tour introducing many aspects of Uzbek history and life. I hope to book another tour with him when I return to Tashkent soon.

It was probably one of the best free walking tours I’ve been on. The tour was uniquely intimate, more like a private tour than a free walking tour. Bakhtiyor is an excellent guide, very friendly, answered all of our questions. His English was perfect. I would definitely recommend booking tour with Bakhtiyor as it’s a great introduction to Tashkent and Uzbekistan

Booked this tour with Donat for the first evening we were in Tashkent, and wanted to dive into Soviet era history and stories. Donat was very knowledgeable, and made the walk very interesting, with a variety of facts and anecdotes. He was also happy to answer questions outside of the Soviet era history, which we appreciated.

Donat spricht hervorragend Englisch und gestaltet die Tour interessant und abwechslungsreich. Auf dem Chorsu-Bazar hatten wir die einzigartige Gelegenheit, beim traditionellen Brot backen mitzuwirken und er machte uns mit den kulinarischen Gerichten bekannt. Interessant war vor allem, dass wir in der Altstadt einen Blick hinter die renovierten Fassaden werfen konnten. Die Tour ist auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert.

Tolle Tour 😃 Donut ist wirklich ein sehr guter guide und hat sehr viel erzählt und auch viele gute Tipps gegeben.
