Free walking tours in Tashkent

Donat was very professional. He carried on the tour even though there was only 2 of us. He took a relaxed paced, which we appreciated. We would've never taken the metro if it's not for the tour. It was a great experience and the metro architecture gave more meaning with his explanation. He introduced local food that we had not tried before in other parts of Uzbekistan. It was a great walk overall. Thank you Donat.

This tour was amazing. You visit an area where tourist usually don’t even hear about. Donat is a local there and shows you around. You see multiple impressive works of art by the Uzbek Banksy and Donat also shows you pictures of the removed ones. He knows the thoughts and stories behind each picture and also shows you the authentic and real side of Tashkent. It was clearly one of the highlights of my trip!

En este tour, Donato nos lleva a un barrio de Tashkent donde no hay turistas, asi que uno puede ver mejor como viven los locales. Los murales que nos enseña son pocos pero asombrosos! El barrio es seguro! No es en si un tour que habla de historia de la ciudad/pais, pero mas de como viven el dia a dia los locales. Altamente recomendable para ver y conocer algo muy distinto no solo de Tashkent pero en si de Uzbekistan.

Bakhtiyor is the perfect guide, very welcoming and easy to speak with making you feel at home before the tour even starts. He is knowledgeable and shares not only facts but also local traditions and insider information that only a local would know. The tour touches on the biggest attractions of Toshkent and he is clearly connected at Chorsu bazaar so take some spending money for food items to try along the way before completing the tour with a plov lunch at the famous BeshQozon. Highly recommend the 4 hour tour which past so quick. English was perfect!!!

Donat was very professional in maintaining the tour even though other participants cancelled. His knowledge and explanations of historical events was impressive and interesting. The cultural themes were tied in with political themes over the centuries and gave a deeper understanding of just how the country arrived at it's current state.

This is such a great tour of Tashkent. Bakhtiyor is a great guide , full of enthusiasm and knowledge about Uzbekistan and Tashkent. You will see a lot on this tour from the ancient history to the modern history. I learnt a lot in the few short hours but had a lot of fun too. I seen some truly amazing sights and visited some beautiful metro stations too.

Really excellent urban tour within a non touristic part of Tashkent. Some very impressive artwork supplemented with very in-depth explanation of inspiration and origin. The area the tour is situated in is also very beautiful and calm part of the city with its own rich history. It was a cold, drizzly morning when I met Don for the walking tour. A few people had canceled because of the weather, but he showed up anyway, and I’m so glad he did. With just the two of us, it didn’t feel like a tour at all. It felt like wandering the city with a friend. Don is a treasure trove of knowledge. If you’re the kind of traveler who wants to understand the why behind a place...the history, the turning points, the culture, the way people live...this is exactly the kind of experience you’d appreciate. The conversation flowed so naturally, and having just visited my country earlier this year, he brought such a personal perspective to everything we talked about. The highlight was definitely the bread making - such a fun, hands-on experience that made everything feel even more immersive. And walking through Chorsu Bazaar with him? It felt less like a tour and more like a gastronomy tasting session. He seemed to know everyone, and every stop came with something to try! Thanks, Don, for sharing your piece of Tashkent with me.

Recommended for Tashkent as it is big city. He showed the city with his own car.

I didn’t have many expectations for the walking tour, and they were far exceeded. We learned so many interesting historical facts and visited truly fascinating locations. Every question we asked was answered, and the highlight of the entire experience was at Chorsu Bazaar, where we even got to make bread ourselves. It was an excellent tour, and I’m hoping to join another one with Donat while I’m in Tashkent. Highly recommend!

I had such a lovely day with Javlon. We started with lunch at a market outside Tashkent and then went on a beautiful countryside hike. He was so attentive and knowledgeable, and made everything feel easy and relaxed. He even offered to extend the tour, but as I was tired I decided to head back—and he kindly escorted me through the metro to make sure I got back to my hotel safely. I really appreciated that extra care. Highly recommend!

Donat was so knowledgeable of the local history (and football) he had great maps and pictures to accompany his tour which was helpful to us. He was funny and accommodating for the group.
