Free Tour London on the Banks of the Thames
We are a young team that left Spain in 2009 and we are in London to create this beautiful project. At the request of our "walkers" we grew up in Paris, Dublin, Berlin, Malaga, Cordoba and Budapest, teaching these cities to thousands of Spanish speakers. We are professional guides and we are madly in love with every corner of the cities we teach.
Tour description
The tour begins at St Paul's Cathedral, London's Anglican cathedral and the largest in the capital. It occupies a very important place in British history due to the events that have been held inside, such as the funerals of Winston Churchill or Margaret Thatcher, or the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Di.
While we learn more about the organization and structure of the City of London (the old London or Londinium), we will cross the Millennium Bridge , which connects the Bankside area with the City . Then we will go through the Tate Modern art gallery, the Globe Theater , a reproduction of the original theater in which William Shakespeare performed his best-known works; and Clink Prison, one of the oldest jails in the city.
From the viewpoint we will have impressive views of the City's skyscrapers and other monuments, such as London Bridge. We will also visit Southwark Cathedral , Borough Market , the oldest market in London, and The Shard, the tallest skyscraper in the European Union.
The tour ends at City Hall, the London City Hall whose building was designed by Norman Foster. From here we will see two of the most emblematic monuments of London: Tower Bridge , the most famous bridge in the city, and the Tower of London , where the Crown Jewels are kept, but which is really famous for having been one of the London's most fearsome prisons.
