Tour description

Experience the culture of Madurai with a 4-hours private guided tour of its ancient temples. Each of the Dravidian temples built by the Pandyan and Madurai Nayak kings, earning the city its nickname Koil Maanagar, which means Temple City.

Itinerary :
Begin this half day tour by spending some time visiting Meenakshi Temple, one of the most famous landmarks of the temple city. This temple itself has a thousand pillar museum and our guest witnessing to see the row of pillars in symmetry and see the  beautiful mesmerizing intricate carvings!Meenakshi Temple is dedicated to the goddess Meenakshi (considered a form of Parvati) and is complete with a sanctum for her consort, Sundareshwarar (or Siva).
Then we will visiting to Arulmigu Subramaniya Swamy Temple , dedicated to the Hindu god Murugan that is known as a handsome son of the Lord Shiva. Due to being having the deity of the one of the favourite Gods which Tamil’s worship, this temple in Madurai receives devotees and pilgrims in large numbers every day and throughout the year.

    Thousand Pillars

    The thousand pillar mandapam is regared as the 'wonder of the palace'. There are around 985 beautifully decorated columns. Each pillar is beautifully sculptured and presents the glory of the Dravidan sculpture. This hall also houses a Temple Art Museum, where you can see icons, photographs, drawings, etc., exhibiting the 1200 years old history.
