Free walking tours in Chiang Mai

This was an amazing tour and among the highlights of my visit to Thailand. The tour guide Pailin is very kind and incredibly knowledgeable about Thailand in general and Chiang Mai in particular. She shared very interesting stories about all the temples we visited, and if you have questions about Buddhism as I did, she will be able to answer them. I learned so much. The tour also included stops along the way for food and coffee, and she shares the best places at which the locals eat. The tour was a grear experience in every way. Highly recommended!

Danke für diese Tour. Pailin hat die Tour sehr interessant und informativ gestaltet. Sie hat uns einiges nach unseren Interesse entscheiden lassen, z.B wie viele Tempel wir besuchen wollen. Auch hat sie uns einiges an streetfood probiere lassen. Zusätzlich hat sie sich fast 1h mehr Zeit für uns genommen. Allerdings habe ich sie manchmal nicht so gut verstanden und an manchen Stellen hatte ich das Gefühl, ihr Wissen geht nicht so tief. Aber allem in allem eine sehr sehr gute Tour! Ich würde sie definitiv empfehlen :)

Le recomiendo mucho a Faan se nota que tiene pasión en lo que dice y mucha cultura.. Aprenderán muchas cosas que nadie Le cuenta sobre el budismo!

He was one of the best tour guides in my traveling experience. Very knowledgeable and passionate about the locations, history and cultural context. He was thoughtful making sure I was hydrated and comfortable at all times especially given the afternoon heat index. I would highly recommend him to anyone visiting Chiang Mei especially the first time around!

He was very informative, patient and friendly. He was open in talking about his experience as a monk, and educating us on the religion and temples we visited. It was a pleasure walking with him.

Pailin is knowledgeable and passionate to share her wealth of knowledge with the group. She also adds in doses of humor to make the walk light hearted! Her food recommendations are also spot on.

Tiew made the tour light hearted and fun! He also ensured the safety of the participants by constantly looking out for traffic and checking on us. The tour also allowed us to interact with the locals as we cycled through the lesser known alleyways. A fun way to explore the city on wheels 😉😉

TJ was professional, talkative and showed love for his work. We visited a few temples and he explained the fundamentals of Buddhism, religion and history of the north of Thailand. It is an easy tour to walk, even if three hours sounds like a lot =)

Hicimos un free tour por Chiang Mai y fue una experiencia fantástica. Nuestra guía fue muy educada, alegre y simpática, además de tener muchísimo conocimiento sobre la historia y la cultura de la ciudad. Supo explicar todo de forma muy clara y entretenida, combinando datos interesantes con algunas bromas que hicieron el tour aún más ameno, por lo que la mañana se pasó literalmente volando. Además, nos dio muy buenas recomendaciones sobre la ciudad e incluso nos invitó a probar comida local durante el recorrido, lo cual fue un detalle muy bonito y nos permitió conocer un poco más la cultura tailandesa. Sin duda, una experiencia muy recomendable para empezar a descubrir Chiang Mai.

Not expecting anything because we arrived in Chiang Mai 2 hours before the beginning of the tour and Tui took us in charge like a pro, guided us through the city through small streets and stopped in different sites/parcs/temple to give very clear explanations. We felt he was genuinely enjoying teaching us new stuff. Learned a lot about the story of Chiang Mai and bouddhism. Very very interesting and we highly recommend it
