Tour description

Visit the town of Pomata, a new tourist destination in Puno Peru. On this free tour you will discover the customs and traditions of Aymara, a city on the shores of Lake Titicaca, which has a great historical past (from pre-Inca, Inca times and the arrival of Dominicans and Jesuits in the 16th century) and splendid landscapes . We visit the city of Pomata on a city tour appreciating the architectural jewel of colonial art "Temple of Santiago Apóstol", the only model of colonial architecture in America. From the Jaquipata point of view we appreciate Lake Titicaca and the surrounding landscape, the typical gastronomy and much more. Every January 1st, "New Year", the swear word of the municipal authorities of the district is made, "Urpu T'anta" or roscada de i Lieutenant Governors, this custom symbolizes the abundance of bread products to take away. It is a parade that starts at 9:00 am in the atrium of the temple, where relatives and community members decorate their lieutenant governor of their community with loaves of Pomata bread, songs and some fruit, and then go to the piazza de Armi Pomata to perform a parade. It is an ideal place to visit, renew with positive energy and only this city has this unique traditional custom. Go ahead and book this guruwalk now!
