Free Tour Burjassot
Description
Free tour through the birthplace of the famous Valencian poet Vicent Andrés Estellés.
What will we see?
The "Silos", used for grain storage (16th century), are undoubtedly the main attraction of this town located near the capital of Turia. Their purpose is to preserve grain in good condition over long periods, even decades. Specifically, wheat was stored, as it is a grain that can be preserved for a long time without losing its properties. To remain preserved for so long, the silos must remain hermetically sealed. The Palace of San Juan de Ribera (18th century) has its origins in the Middle Ages, after this person established it as a place of rest and set it up as a residential palace. This Juan de Rivera bequeathed it to the Real Colegio del Corpus, and at the end of the 19th century, it was auctioned off with the state expropriation. The Church of San Miguel (18th century), the cultural center, and the town hall (1915) form the tourist attractions of Burjassot. Here you will find the campus of the Natural Sciences of the University of Valencia as well as the facilities of Radiotelevisió Valenciana.
