My name is Álvaro and I consider myself a fan of the history and culture of my land. I have always been very curious and since I was little I have always been looking for information about the place where I grew up, Malaga. Today I enjoy my work like a baby, showing my province to other people who want to see the wonders of this Andalusian corner. If you are looking for a fun guide, do not hesitate to contact me!
Do you want to know the interesting history of the place where Spanish tourism began?
You may think that Torremolinos is not made for people like us, lovers of culture and history , but you are wrong. In this Costa del Sol town there is much more than partying and espetos (although they are not lacking!).
After getting to know Plaza Costa del Sol and its traditional elements, we will walk down Calle San Miguel to Plaza de la Nogalera , the historic center of the LGTBI movement in Spain, also entering the emblematic Pasaje Begoña . Later we will cross the neighborhood to visit Pueblo Blanco , a very young architectural marvel.
We will approach the center again to discover the ancient history of the town, the Church of San Miguel (which we will enter if there is no mass), the occasional old mill and the Torre de Pimentel , perhaps " Tower " and " Molins " mean something...
We will enter the typical neighborhood of Bajondillo to discover a house that will undoubtedly make you fall in love, the Casa de los Navajas . And the beautiful promenade will not be far behind, which will accompany us along with tasty smells to Punta de Torremolinos (which you will fall in love with if you are a fan of felines).
Finally, we will be surprised by the narrow streets of the Carihuela fishermen's quarter, always presided over by the attentive gaze of the Virgen del Carmen (Church that we will also visit if there are no masses).
Did you know that we have an LGTBI Historical Memory Place ? Or that the first hotel on the Costa del Sol opened here?
You can't imagine everything that is hidden in this destination! Are you going to miss it?
The Tour begins in the center, in Plaza Costa del Sol , and ends in the typical seaside neighborhood of Carihuela.
Let us guide you, you will not regret it!
Meeting point: Open in Google Maps
How to find me: I will wait for you next to the abstract statue of "Los Oficios", just in front of the "Clock Tower" restaurant, in Plaza Costa del Sol. I will wear a t-shirt with an eight-pointed star with the name "Al-Malaquí Tours" and a folder green.
