Hi, I'm Maria Belen. Your hostess in Madrid. I graduated in 2016 with a degree in Psychopedagogy in my country, Argentina. After many years working in my profession, my curious and adventurous soul led me to discover a great passion that I did not know: tourism. My years as a tour guide have taken me down different and exciting paths. First discovering Danish lands and then returning to my first great love, Madrid. On this tour we will learn about traditions, celebrations, churches, walls and taverns of the most traditional neighborhoods of the city.
We will begin the tour by immersing ourselves in the LA LATINA neighborhood to discover the walls that defended the ancient town of Madrid and thus understand how the city expanded until today.
with every step We will delve into the heart of the neighborhood, to understand the origins of the Madrid traditions that, to this day, are still valid and make us vibrate.
We will talk about El Rastro , a bustling and busy commercial area known worldwide for its street market every Sunday and holidays, the most emblematic market in Spain.
Then, we will travel to other nations as we enter the most multicultural and diverse neighborhood: LAVAPIÉS
Immigrants, chulapos, murals, corralas, festivals and the oldest tavern in Madrid await us to help us understand how the neighbors lived during the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries
