Hello! I am Emanuele and I was born and live in Naples, I am deeply in love with the whole gulf of which I consider myself a child, I love to get in touch with the contrasting and fragmented realities that characterize the Neapolitan area and in particular my beloved city, just as I love very much travel and discover cultures and customs different from mine. I have been working in tourism and public relations for 10 years, and I have always felt the need to deviate from the way of doing mass tourism, preferring a vision more oriented towards "travelers" rather than "tourists", putting in contact the people with the different colors of local realities and listen to the thousand voices and the thousand stories they tell. I am not a formal guide but rather I consider myself a cultural mediator between the traveler and the world I know, in order to help him feel part of the reality that surrounds him so that he can touch it with his hand, and experience it, rather than looking at it from the outside as in a shop window. I also believe that this is the best way to make everyone's experience more informal, spontaneous and genuine. So what are you waiting for? Are you coming for a friendly walk with me?

Tour description

"Tell me what you eat and I'll tell you who you are" said Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin, French gastronome and politician of the 19th century , and in fact, what better way to get to know the intimacy of a culture than through its food? It is a bit like entering people's houses, peeking into everyday life and exploring the tastes of a culture, which expresses its history, as well as the influences and events that have characterized its experience.
We will go to one of the oldest markets in Naples to explore the local street food, with its peculiarities and its strong flavors, often born from the popular needs to feed creatively with few things available. On our trip we will make several different stops where we will have the opportunity to try things like mozzarella or fried pizza, but also tarallo and other nice ones, before arriving at the typical desserts and the Neapolitan coffee, unique in the world and strictly short and creamy, with its warm and enveloping aromas.
Our will be a journey where step by step we will educate the palate to house increasingly strong and determined flavors, and on this journey it will seem to start from the bottom to reach the top little by little, surely you will not regret it!

Let me know if you have any special food needs and I will think about some alternatives accordingly! 😋

"The discovery of a plate is more precious to humanity than the discovery of a star"

I came with my son, although i didnt confirmed my visit Emanuel was Kind enough to let us joined, the tour was spectacular, a great taste from what the local street food can offer, a lot. I think guru walk is a great project, in particular because you don't pay at first you only register, it says something about trust, and i know that from today i will need to check my emails after i register to confirm, because people like Emanuel are working there and trust you to come after the register. It made me think strongly about projects like guru. That people give their trust in you, and you need to give it back. Thanks again for the the tour and the lesson.

I don't normally do food tours, since I'm vegetarian, but the other tour I had planned to do changed times, so I opted for this one instead. As a horrible introvert, I like the chance walking tours give to talk to a local and get oriented. No one else showed up, and Emanuele very kindly did the tour anyway, and made sure to choose places with vegetarian options. Emanuele was excellent, and the cheese was unreal :) My only regret is not trying some local drinks when he offered! (I had a small stroke that affected my balance, and I was pretty sure a couple of drinks and the cobblestones would do me in.)
