Free Walking Tour to Jardín Circunvalar de Medellín: green belt, viewpoints, cable car, and street food
Hola, Hello, Bonjour! We are excited to invite you to join The Best Tours in Medellin, a registered tourism agency, to visit wonderful places and communities, learn about Colombian history and culture, meet and mingle with other travelers, and receive the best recommendations from our highly experienced local guides. We are a group of multilingual guides (English, Spanish, French) who know our city in-depth and love to show the most interesting aspects of our culture to thousands of visitors annually. Thank you for your time and enjoy our beautiful City of Eternal Spring!
Tour description
Join us to take the cable car to visit a breathtaking viewpoint, explore the "Jardín Circunvalar de Medellín" (green belt), visit the Buenos Aires neighborhood, and try Colombian street food.
Departures Monday to Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Duration: 3 hours.
From the meeting point, we will take the tram and the cable car to visit an amazing viewpoint from the top of the mountain. From there we will start walking to the initial part of the "Jardín Circunvalar de Medellín", a huge green belt, from which we will appreciate the most beautiful views of the city, amazing trees, and animals.
We will also walk through the Enciso neighborhood, and there you will see how people live in the communities located on the mountain tops.
Then, we will take the metro cable again and we will walk through the authentic Buenos Aires neighborhood. We will make 2 food stops over there: arepa de chócolo con queso and empanadas with chili. In this area, you will see graffiti, colorful bars, traditional restaurants, squares, and people hanging out. This is not a tourist neighborhood, so you can see how the locals really live.
Afterward, we will continue our walk, leaving the neighborhood and passing through the downtown district, a place with a lot of formal and informal commerce, fruit sales, street art, modern buildings, and where many people circulate. Downtown is a unique place in the city that you should visit.
Finally, at 5:00 pm, we will finish the tour at the initial meeting point, the entrance of the Ayacucho Tramway.
NOTE 1: As this is a Free Walking Tour, each participant should pay for the tour expenses: please bring 15.000COP or 4 US dollars in cash for 1 tram ticket, 2 cable car tickets, and 2 street food snacks. The recommended tip is 40.000COP or 10 US dollars in cash.
Total cash recommended: 55.000COP or 14 US dollars.
NOTE 2: It is recommended to have lunch before attending the tour as we get the snacks at the end of the event and they do not replace lunch or dinner.
