I've had an obsession with Ancient Rome for as long as I can remember. After studying classics I decided to pack my bags and move from my hometown in England to Rome in 2015. Since then I have been working as a tour guide and never looked back! I absolutely love doing what I do and being able to share my knowledge and passion with people from all different backgrounds and places. My favourite part of being a tour guide is being able to show all the hidden gems, secrets and anecdotes that make the Eternal City even more magical to experience. I also co-own and manage a tourist agency here in Rome, offering a wide variety of tours and experiences throughout the city and beyond! In my free time you'll catch me hiking, climbing, travelling and of course doing what we in Italy do best - enjoying my food.
Accompany me on this majestic walk to discover the wonders of Rome. Be prepared to be dazzled by the rich history, cobble stoned streets, and majestic monuments.
The tour begins with a warm welcome to the Eternal City by Bernini's fountain of four rivers. After getting to know one and other we will venture into the historical center of Rome.
Our first stop is of great importance. The Pantheon is nearly 2000 years old and it still holds the world record for the largest un-enforced dome. Discover the secrets of a once bustling Roman temple.
No trip to Rome would be complete without visiting the Trevi Fountain. Hear the story behind the fountain and the architect that created it as the light flickers on it's facade. Quick stop for the coin toss.
Leaving Renaissance Rome behind we will head down Rome's most scenic road: Via Fori Imperiale. From the road we will admire unbeatable panaoramic views of the Ancient Roman Forum and the monument built for Vittorio Emanuele 2nd.
Saving the best till last we will walk towards the Colosseum and climb some steps to the best viewpoint in the area. From above we delve into it's blood stained history.
We will be standing outside Grano Tratorria with a Red Flag reading BEST FREE TOURS.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
