San Sebastian is my city, I grew up in its streets, where my whole family comes from. Like the ancient sailors of its coasts, my origins prompted me to get to know the world and to intertwine with its cultures, its people and the nature that surrounds us. After 12 years of travel, which for my artistic studies made me spend a lot of time in Italy (Florence, Sicily, Rome), I'm back in port and I feel it's time to spread the hidden gems that the city offers, making a accessible walk between nature, sport and gastronomy.
We will start the tour from Zurriola beach, in front of the Kursaal , where all the surfers meet and where the Camino de Santiago arrives from the coast.
We will cross the river and arrive at the historic 19th century Ensanche, facing the magnificent Art Deco palladium of the Victoria Eugenia Theater . We will enter the old part of the city through the Calle 31 de Agosto , the best gastronomic street in San Sebastian, up to the Church of Santa Maria del Coro.
In the old part of the city we will get to know the most recent part of the history of the Basque Country and its political situation thanks to emblematic places such as the Plaza de la Constitución.
From there we will go to the Ayuntamiento and the Port with the Maritime Museum and the Aquarium to discover the story of the Basque sailors who reached the most remote places in the world against all odds.
We will end our visit at the top of the Paseo Nuevo , in front of the Oteiza sculpture , against the background of the incomparable shell bay that opens before us with the Santa Clara Island and the Chillida sculpture .
