A walk through the history of Milan
HI! My name is Clara, I am passionate about my city, the tour I propose is a journey through the spaces, the architecture, the highlights that tell the story of Milan.
Tour description
Welcome to Milan!
We will start our tour from the magnificent Cathedral , the DUOMO with its 145 towers and more than 3000 statues, a construction site that has been under construction for more than 700 years.
We will visit the large " living room " of the Gallery and the most famous theater in Italy: the SCALA .
Then we will move nearby to see the political and justice center born in the Middle Ages, the beating heart of business: the ancient Broletto and its square .
We will see the oldest symbol of Milan, a sow that was sighted for the Celtic founding motif Bello vero in the 4th century BC
We will discover where the Roman Forum was, which is the center of the ancient Roman city: Mediolanum .
We will walk through narrow alleys of the medieval city , which will not even seem to be in one of the most modern metropolises in Europe.
Finally we will arrive at the ancient remains of the Roman city, the IMPERIAL PALACE ! In fact, our tour wants to discover the history of this city and its beauties....
We will see wonderful frescoes in a convent church considered the Sistine Chapel of Milan: San Maurizio .
Finally, the tour will continue with the symbol of medieval cities, first a fortress and then a ducal residence, embellished by Leonardo Da Vinci for the wonderful and sumptuous courtly parties between ladies and lovers...
The tour will end in the beautiful Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie , where Leonardo da Vinci's "The Last Supper" is located and we will visit the Church of the Sforza , the most important family that linked the name of Leonardo da Vinci to Milan.
For those who want, we will move to Brera, a historic artists' quarter (15 minutes on foot) for a final aperitif.
