Thamel is a tourist hub of Kathmandu city. This walking tour will start from Thamel by walking to the old market and we explore one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This is one of the historical and cultural places of Nepalese kingdoms in the Malla, Shah, and Rana Periods of Nepal. This walking tour includes two different places "Kathmandu Durbar Squire" and
Walking Through Local Market.
We will be starting this tour from Thamel and walking through the Local market on Ashan and Indra Chock. This is one of the famous local market in Kathmandu valley. Exploring the local market we will going to Kathmandu Durbar Squire.
Kathmandu Durbar Squire
Kathmandu Durbar Squire, also known as Basantapur Durbar Squire and Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Squire. Kathmandu Durbar Squire is the oldest durbar in Kathmandu city. This is a Royal King palace. It builds between time periods of the 10th Century AD to the 18th Century AD. It represents the art of Malla, Shah, and Rana period. The main attraction of Durbar Squire is given below:
- KUMARI(The Living God)
- Tribhuban Museum
- Different Art of Malla period,
- Shah Period and Rana Period.
- Different monuments of this area.
- Walking Through Local Markets.

Our main attraction of the tour is Durbar Square and the oldest local market. If you want to spend more time at the Durbar Square area, we will end the tour there. And if you want to come back to Thamel, we will walk back or drive back. All the things depend on where you end your tour.
