Tour description
Cycling through Lagos gives you the opportunity to see more in less time. History, the beautiful coastline, and the cliffs of Lagos.
The tour will be 2:30 hours, bring comfortable clothes and water.
The metting point is Lagos Marina.
- Fishing boat Dock, see the boats used for fishing in Portugal, and also a replica of the boat used by the Portuguese in the 15th century.
- A Visit to Meia Praia is in order since we are close, to the biggest beach in Lagos.
- 1920's Lagos train station
- Lagos farmers Market on Saturday is a must and the fish Market on any other day as well.
Lagos old town historical landmarks fortresses and other secrets, such as
- City Hall
- praça Infante Dom. Henrique
- Slave Market
- Igreja Santa Maria
- Igreja Santo António
- Regimental warehouse
- Lagos Castle and city walls
- Lagos Fort(forte da Bandeira)
- Ponta da Piedade with its beautiful cliffs, lighthouse, rock formations, and views.
- Padaria Central (the oldest bakery in Lagos)will be our last stop, for a coffee and some local treats and tips, before heading to the meeting point.
The tour is 2:30 hours we will cover approx 10 km at a smooth and relaxed pace. Bikes/helmets and the tour are free, just bring comfortable clothes and water, the tour is relatively easy anyone that knows how to ride a bike can take part.

The riding bike with Gavin was wonderful
We were only two for the tour and it was very interesting as Gavin grow in Lagos so he knows the city very well.
The bike tour includes beautiful views of Lagos and cliffs and also historical informations and stories about the city

Very professional and local (grew up in Lagos) which made for some funny stories, made time to speak personally with everyone, gave information on past and present, biking was easy and a nice change from walking. Would highly recommend.

Loved the tour, easily one of my favourites. I’ve done my fair share of walking tours and this one was very refreshing. The bikes were great and such a good way to explore multiple locations.
Covered a lot of modern topics as well as the essential historical things.
Doesn’t have such a heavy focus on boring historic dates or events that you just end up forgetting. Couldn’t recommend more!

We can’t recommend this tour enough! We’ve been on many free walking tours before but never a free bike tour. At first that made us nervous but we were put immediately at ease.
Gavin gave us a great tour and accommodated to our pace. We were able to see so much of Lagos and learned so much about the history, politics and current events. He was very patient with our many questions and even gave us recommendations for food and places to see for the rest of our trip!
The bikes were mountain bikes and helmets were provided.
