Free tour of the past, present and future of Cali
I am a Journalist, interested in cultural issues with extensive knowledge of the history and dynamics of Cali. I am willing and interested in accompanying people who want to know more about the city, to also teach them a little about how we live, express ourselves and feel this territory.
Tour description
Cali is a city with an exciting history that is perceived and told through different places that show what we have been and what we are.
It seems interesting to me to be able to take people from outside to know the stories that the city has from the different places that characterize it. Starting with the Hermitage , which is not only the most emblematic church but also reveals part of how we have built ourselves. From there, we will go to the Parque de los Poetas and the Jorge Isaacs Theater , which are a relevant part of who we are culturally. We will continue towards the Plaza de Caycedo that houses the old courthouse and also the Cathedral.
We walk understanding and recognizing the Center , to reach the place called "the four corners of art" for a reason.
From here we can reach the San Antonio neighborhood that still preserves this nostalgia for the city, but also the present and the future. A few steps away we find the Peñón, another traditional neighborhood that has managed to stay current through gastronomy and socializing. Finally, we would have the La Tertulia Museum of Modern Art , which summarizes the history of recent years in Cali and which is also perfectly connected to the Gatos del Río park.
