Hello, I'm Lluís. In love with my city, Reus, its history, its traditions and its emblematic buildings. I would very much like to share this passion for Reus with you.
To talk about Reus is to talk about modernism, Gaudí and, of course, vermouth. When its streets were full of industry and markets, it was the second most important city in Catalonia, behind Barcelona. Today, it continues to be a leading commercial city, but also of modernist art and many stories.
Reus, Gaudí's hometown (we will not argue with the people of Riudoms ;P), does not have any of the architect's buildings, but we can see his birthplace, the Sant Pere Priory , which houses his baptismal font, and the Bell Tower of said Priory, whose spiral staircase was the inspiration for his main work, the Sagrada Familia.
Our route will also take us through 3 of the 4 buildings of Lluís Domènech i Montaner , the architect who started modernism in Reus and Gaudí's teacher.
In Reus, modernism is not just about Gaudí and Lluis Domènech i Montaner, but it has almost 100 cataloged buildings, many of them from another important name, Pere Caselles i Tarrats.
And, of course, vermouth, the drink par excellence of Reus.
The route will begin and end in the central Plaza Mercadal. Among the main stops:
I will love to suggest more routes and places where you can eat and dine. Before your arrival you can contact me through the platform if you don't know how to get there or where you can park.
There is the possibility of doing a vermouth tasting (3 vermouths + potatoes). It would have an additional cost of 5 euros per person. When making the reservation send me a message if you are interested in booking it.
I will be waiting for you in Plaza Mercadal in front of the Town Hall.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
