Hello, my name is Katija, I am a local tour guide. My family has lived in Dubrovnik since the 18th century. Dubrovnik is an amazing and beautiful place worth visiting, it is full of interesting stories and I can tell You about life here during the Republic of Ragusa (Dubrovnik) from the 15th to the 19th century.
Dubrovnik tour with a local guide who was born in Dubrovnik.
The local guide in one and half hour and we will go through the whole city, will introduce you to the customs, legends and various stories about the city from the time of the Republic of Dubrovnik (from 15th to 19th century) to the present day.
Meeting point on the east side of the Old Town of Dubrovnik, Ploče Gate.
1. Stop at the Ploče Gate, on the square of Arms, from where you have an excellent view of the Old Port and the island of Lokrum.
We are passing the Dominican Monastery and Church.
We will pass Old Port. Where they used to make Dubrovnik's wooden ships.

We will pass the Open-air market , which has existed for centuries in the same place at Gundulić Square .
in front of the Jezuits steps and the Jesuit Square.The Jesuit staircase is also very famous for the American series Game of Thrones.
5. Stop at Plaza Major Luža - Sponza Palace - former 15th century Customs Palace, Orlando's Column, City bell tower with clock and Church of St. Blaise, patron of the city.
And there is the longest street in the city called Stradun , which goes from one main entrance Pile Gate to the other Ploče Gate.
6. The next stop is Široka Street, the widest street in the city, so on that street we will see photographs of the destruction of Dubrovnik during the Croatian War of Independence of 1991.
7. Continuing along the street ''od Puča'', we arrive at the place where one of the oldest children's Orphanage in Europe was located.
8. Next stop is in front of the Big Onofrio fountain and the Franciscan Church and Monastery where there is one of the oldest Pharmacy in Europe.
The end of the tour will be on the western side of the Old town at Pile Gate.
When we finish the tour, you will see Dubrovnik with different eyes, the eyes of the past.

The meeting place at the entrance to the Lazarete, at Ploče Gate (entrance), it is located also near Banje beach on the east side of the Old town of Dubrovnik.
The first stop on the tour is the entrance to the Old Town of Ploče Gate on the Square of Arms, where you can see a wonderful view of the Old Harbor and the island of Lokrum.
After passing through the streets and seeing the church of St. Dominic and the Old Port, as well as the Cathedral, we come to the Rector's Palace, where the ruler of the city lived during the Dubrovnik Republic and where an important museum is located today.
Passing through the oldest open-air market, we will see the fantastic Jesuit stairs from the 18th century, which are also popular because of the American series Game of thrones.
We return to the main square of Luža, which is also on the longest street in the city called Stradun, there is the church of St. Blaise, the Sponza Palace, the Town Bell..
Stradun Street stretches from one main entrance to the Old Town, Pile Gate, to another, Ploče Gate. Passing through the street Stradun, we will stop at the entrance of Buža Street, Široka Street, and all the way to the Franciscan Monastery and the Big Onofrio's Fountain.
Pile Gate is the main entrance to the old town, where we will see the beautiful Lovrijenac fortress and that's where we end our tour.
