Passionate about the history and cultural identity of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, I have been fascinated since the founding of the city of Luxembourg by Siegfried I von Lëtzebuerg. From the formation of the County to the Duchy, a western outpost of the Germanic world, up to the present Grand Duchy, I deeply cherish Luxembourg's culture and cuisine. My experiences as a guide reflect my dedication to sharing this passion. With extensive knowledge gained through my academic journey and roles as an organizer and guide, notably at the Museum of the Grande Ardenne in Bastogne, I am committed to showcasing the richness of this magnificent region. Currently, I am a cultural mediator for the MNAHA (National Museum of Archaeology, History and Art) / Nationalmusée um Fëschmaart, overseeing the Neolithic villa of Lorentzweiler. Additionally, I work as a guide-lecturer for the Lëtzebuerg City Museum and the Fonds Belval in southern Luxembourg.

Tour description

🚶 Welcome to the immersive exploration of Luxembourg!

Embark on a captivating journey through the history and exceptional architecture of this unique city. Let me guide you through these enriching itineraries.

Our adventure begins at Place Guillaume II (and more precisely just in front of the equestrian statue), the center point of urban excitement. Going down Rue de l'Eau, crossing the Place de Clairefontaine, descending Rue du Saint-Esprit, and ascending Rue du Marché-aux-Herbes, one will have the opportunity to see the Grand Ducal Palace and the Chamber of Deputies, both offering beautiful examples of architecture from different periods. Passing through Rue du Rost and Rue Sigefroi, we immerse ourselves in the eras from the 10th to the 18th century.

Walking through the Place du Marché-aux-Poissons reveals an architectural panorama from the 17th and 18th centuries, where one can admire various gems, including St. Michael's Church.

We pause in picturesque Grund, capturing unforgettable moments with its charming alleys and medieval architecture. Continuing our journey we pass by Neumünster Abbey, follow the Alzette through Rives du Clausen, climb to the Causen plateau and descend along the Path of Hope to reach the Porte d'Eich.

We end our visit at Pescatore Park, after of course having visited the panoramic elevator in Pfaffenthal.
