We are a passionate team of licensed Malaysian Tourist Guides-ERINA, POOI LING, and KRISTIN-taking turns based on our availability, ready to take you on a flavorful journey through the heart of George Town!

Our tour is a TIP-BASED TOUR, with a suggested tip of RM100 (€25) per person. This suggested amount includes food-tasting costs. Your generosity supports our work in sharing the rich gastronomy and cultural heritage of Penang. This district, central to the South Indian community, played a major role in the spice trade and cultural fusion in Penang. Learn about the journey of spices from India to George Town, and take part in a hands-on experience exploring Indian textiles (if time permitted). You’ll also receive personal recommendations for some of the best South Indian dishes to try along the way.

If time and circumstances allow, we’ll step inside Penang’s oldest Hindu temple. The temple’s intricate architecture and vibrant history add a spiritual dimension to our spice journey, where we’ll discover how different cultures and religions intersected in the spice trade.

Free tours don't have a fixed price. At the end, each person contributes to the guide the amount they consider fair based on their satisfaction. As a guideline, Guruwalk recommends between €15 and $50 per participant.
