Free Tour of Chueca and Malasaña
Tour description
Berlin has Kreuzberg, London has Soho… and Madrid has these two sister neighborhoods.
Discover the rich history of the capital's most alternative neighborhoods on our free tour of Chueca and Malasaña, famous throughout Spain for their LGBTI culture and their role in the countercultural movements of the 1980s that led to the so-called Movida Madrileña.
We'll start at Plaza de Chueca, the heart of the Spanish neighborhood most closely linked to the LGBT community.
Our next stop will be the Madrid History Museum. We'll admire its impressive Baroque façade before heading towards Fuencarral Street, one of the city's most dynamic streets.
The walk will take us to Plaza del Dos de Mayo, the vibrant epicenter of Malasaña. Nearby are several historic bars that were crucial to the Movida Madrileña scene of the 1980s.
After two hours of exploration, we'll end the tour at Plaza de Santa María de Soledad Torres y Acosta... although everyone knows it as Plaza de la Luna.
Don't miss the opportunity to explore the most alternative side of Madrid on our Chueca and Malasaña Free Tour!
