Free tour of the historic center of Salerno

Salerno, a beautiful city on the sea and an enchanting medieval treasure chest... come and discover it with me! We will meet at the maritime station, passing through the new Piazza della Libertà, the largest square on the sea in Europe. We will pass through the lush Villa Comunale, then towards the Teatro Verdi, catching sight of the Castello di Arechi, which overlooks the city, and the twentieth-century buildings, which overlook the sea. We will then enter the historic center, in via dei Mercanti, walking through the alleys in search of the numerous columns scattered in every corner and discovering the secrets of the city. I will tell you about the history and culture of Salerno, which has seen rulers, famous people and more pass by.
We will reach San Pietro a Corte and the Cathedral, dedicated to San Matteo. Finally, we will leave the heart of the city, crossing one of its ancient gates, in Piazza Sedile di Porta Nova.
