Invisible Limassol: a journey into the past
What if the streets you walk every day were hiding a story?
Not loud ones: quiet, almost invisible. But still there, in balconies, cracks and names that no one explains.
For nearly a year, I’ve been walking through the old town with guests, showing them a Limassol that seems gone, but still lives in details.
This isn’t a formal tour.
It’s more like time-travel with someone who loves the city and wants to share what’s often overlooked.
We’ll talk about:
📜 What stood here 100 years ago
🎥 Which cinema was the third on the whole island
💣 Why there's a WWII bomb in the centre
🧨 How the city raised money for its main monument (spoiler: very creatively)
📮 What were the “social networks” of the past?
You’ll see:
The outline of the old Turkish quarter
A rare map of Limassol when it was tiny
Archival photos that make the past feel real
We finish near Poe Bar – the perfect place to let the stories settle.
🧡 I keep groups small – around 5 people.
Coming alone? I’m happy to walk even with one person.
Can’t make the time? Message me – we’ll work something out.
Let the city surprise you.
You’ve probably walked these streets. Just… not like this.
