Tickling Tidbits of Kirkland Old to New

Kirkland is packed with tickling tidbits! "Pittsburg of the West," as per Peter Kirk's vision never came about. Instead, Kirkland became known for wool mining and ship building before developing into one of the regions most beautiful little towns. Learn the colorful history of Kirkland, perhaps barely recognizable today.  This tour will point out how the city we know today was actually in a different location. Lake Washington, yes named after George Washington, had a lot to do with how the city of Kirkland could be settled. Spoiler alert, Kirkland, as we know it today, was underwater. Harnessing nature defined how Seattle and especially Kirkland could become viable cities. On the tour we will see fabulous places to to eat, drink, shop and and even take a dip (not included in the tour, but could could bring your swimsuit and jump into the lake after the tour!)  Learn what happened in this quaint little town a century ago and how it transformed into one of the regions most idyllic  spots. The tour has two stops for something to eat and drink.

The tour lasts 2 hours
