Tour description
Bukhara: A Journey Through Art and Architecture.
Join me on an unforgettable guided tour of Bukhara's most iconic sites. Together, we will discover the rich history, art, architecture, and unique atmosphere of the city, as the golden sunset light reveals the beauty of ancient wonders and bustling squares.
List of Highlights:
1) Poyi Kalon Architectural Complex:
These structures form a cohesive architectural ensemble that reflects Bukhara's artistic and cultural heritage during the Islamic Golden Age. The Poyi Kalon complex is not only a vital religious site but also a symbol of Bukhara's historical importance as a center of trade, culture, and scholarship in Central Asia. It consists of three monuments: the Masjidi Kalyan, the Miri Arab Madrasa, and the Kalyan Minaret.
2) Embroidery Workshop (Suzani):
Bukhara is famous for its suzani embroideries, which feature colorful patterns and floral motifs. These textiles are often used in home decoration and clothing.
3) Abdul Aziz Khan Madrasa.
The building is typical in its composition, with a courtyard of four iwans, but with an unusual divergent fan of hudj groups after the side iwans and domed buildings on the central axis.
4) Tim Abdullaxon Trading Bazaars.
The region is known for its exquisite carpets, often handwoven with intricate designs that tell stories or represent local traditions. Bukhara carpets are especially prized for their quality and craftsmanship.
5) Bozori Kord Active Hammam: Immerse yourself in centuries-old traditions of Eastern culture and enjoy a unique relaxation experience.
6) Magokki Attor Mosque (the mosque in the well) built over the remains of a Zoroastrian temple from the pre-Islamic era.
7) Nadir Divan-Begi Madrasa:
– Part of the Lyab-i Hauz complex, this madrasa features beautiful mosaics and serves as a reminder of Bukhara's role in education and scholarship during the Islamic Golden Age.
8) Bukhara Puppet Workshop: This museum-workshop, an authentic treasure of Uzbek puppets, is located in the heart of Bukhara.
