Áfrika Viva Route: Secrets, Colors, and Flavors of the Ancestral Legacy
Tour description
Come and let's discover together a Cartagena that goes beyond the sun, the beach, and the walls.
This city is a living book that tells stories of courage, resilience, and a legacy evident in every street.
On this tour, you will discover the Palenquera heritage, with a special emphasis on the empowerment, leadership, influence, and significant contributions of enslaved African women to the struggles of a maroon community and the social customs etched in Cartagena's memory, who in turn were silent protagonists of freedom. Their braids were escape maps, and their sweets were cultural treasures that crossed oceans. We will visit squares, monuments, and corners where the spirit of struggle remains alive, from the Clock Tower and San Pedro Claver to the vibrant Getsemaní and its Plaza de la Trinidad. Here, art, music, and life merge in a tribute to a history that continues to resonate in every brick.
