My name is Orsi and I am a professional tour guide in Italy. I live in the beautiful town of Trieste. So you decided to take a look around Trieste? Let me tell you that it is the best decision you can make on your holiday. By the end of my tour, most people are amazed by the versatility of this town and wish they could stay for longer. Why is that? We don't only have history here, but we have the sea, we have the mountains, and thanks to the unique past of this area, we have a real mix of cultural scene.

On our walk, you will learn about the layers of history that shaped Trieste. You will get to see the remains of the Roman Empire, learn about the creation of the Free Port and then the Free State of Trieste, and find out why Maria Theresa was a local celebrity in the area. We will touch on some serious topics and some fun facts. For example, the reason why Trieste is called the city of coffee, or what on Earth Bora is, and how it affects the everyday life of Triestians.

All in all, I will give you the opportunity to take in a comprehensive view of the Gulf of Trieste. Both literally and metaphorically.

Meeting point:

Facing the Grand Canal from the main road, you will find me on the right side of the canal, at the side of Carciotti Palace. In case the tour takes place on a flea market day (once every month) and there is too big of a crowd, you'll find me at the little glass bridge called Passaggio Joyce, just a few steps from the original meeting point. I will be wearing my tour guide badge on a blue lanyard around my neck.
