Houston On Foot - Free Museum District Guided Tour
The tour lasts 2 hours
Available in English
Description
This two-hour / 2.5 mile tour begins at the "Sarah H. and John H. Lindsey Plaza” in Hermann Park (between the reflection pool and Sam Houston Statue). From there we explore Hermann Park, the Museum District, Boulevard Oaks mansions, Rice University and finally the Texas Medical Center.
Along the way, you will hear the story of how Houston rose to prominence, from a small commercial town to an energy, medical, and aerospace powerhouse. You will see the 1910s and 1920s architecture that distinguishes this area of Houston. And you will learn about the families and individuals that made this area what it is today.
