Discover the heart of Nice and fall in love!
Tour description
The tour begins in Piazza Garibaldi , a large, historic square with a clear Italian influence. Surrounded by buildings in shades of ochre and traditional cafes, it's a key vantage point for observing the daily rhythm of Nice and its connection between past and present.
From the square, we'll head towards Castle Hill . We'll leave the urban area behind and reach one of the best viewpoints in the city. From the top, you'll enjoy sweeping views of the Mediterranean Sea, the port, and the old town.
The descent leads directly to Old Nice , where the atmosphere changes dramatically. The streets are narrow and lively, with colorful facades, local shops, and small squares. Here you'll find the Cathedral of Santa Reparata , one of the city's finest examples of Baroque architecture. Just a short walk away is the Cours Saleya , known for its bustling market.
Continuing, we arrive at
Place Masséna , one of Nice's most recognizable squares. Its reddish buildings, central fountain, and modern sculptures create an open space that connects the historic center with the shopping district.
From there, Avenue Jean Médecin leads to the end of the route. This modern and lively thoroughfare ends at the Basilica of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption , an imposing neo-Gothic building that marks the end of the walk with a more tranquil and contemplative atmosphere.
