Free tour Discover Ciudad Real capital
Tour description
We will meet at the indicated time in the Plaza de Cervantes, next to the statue of the author.
We will approach Plaza del Pilar, where the medieval nucleus of what would become Ciudad Real began. Afterwards, we will go to the Church of San Pedro, a 14th-15th century church that houses several chapels, most notably the Chapel of Fernando de Coca, confessor to Isabella I of Castile.
After visiting the interior of the church, we will continue to the Prado Gardens, where we can see the Cathedral of Santa María del Prado, the last of the city's Gothic churches to be built. The Old Town Hall is also located in the square.
The Casino, a meeting place for the local bourgeoisie during the 19th century, the Provincial Museum, which houses the cultural legacy of the territory, and the House of Hernán Pérez del Pulgar where we find the Manuel López-Villa Señor Municipal Museum, a 20th-century painter.
Very close by we find the Plaza Mayor of Ciudad Real where we will end the visit surrounded by peculiar buildings such as the neo-Gothic Town Hall built by Fernando de Higueras in 1976 or the Casa del Arco with its carillon clock inspired by Don Quixote.
