Join us for a historical walking tour of Cobh – lively, informative and with a touch of humor!
The city of Cobh has a great many sights to offer. Among other things, it is known as the last port of call of the world-famous Titanic.
Along the way you will learn how a small fishing village became one of the most important places in the British Empire.
Our walk begins at the harbor, the heart of the city, where we will see some magnificent examples of British architecture – including the original building of the world's first yacht club!
The tour then continues through the city, where stories are told of the millions of Irish people who said their final goodbyes to their homeland here to build a better future abroad.
We will also visit the former ticket office of the White Star Line shipping company, where 123 passengers boarded the Titanic – many of whom later met a tragic end.
The tour concludes with a visit to the majestic cathedral. From here, one can enjoy a breathtaking view over the second largest natural harbor in the world.
In addition, you will learn some words and phrases from the Irish language along the way!

Guiding since 2026My name is Diarmuid, a 24 year old from Cork, Ireland!
I currently work in production as drinks maker in a craft alcohol producer.
I started working in tourism back in 2019, doing tours as a college job in my local town of Cobh, Country Cork. Ever since, I have loved meeting visitors from all over the world, showing them how unique Ireland is and what this country has to offer!
I started off studying German and Spanish in University, later moving in to the drinks industry, where I began working in the Midleton distillery visitor centre. There I welcomed guests from all over the world, doing in-detail tours and whiskey tastings, while also studying brewing and distilling to make my start in the industry.
From there, I went on to work in different roles in the distillery, until moving into a production role, where I make ciders and apple brandy in a local craft alcohol producer.
As a passionate amateur historian with knowledge of Irish history and the Irish language, I bring both of these elements to my tours, paired with youthful humour, to create a unique experience to show guests from around the world what Ireland has to offer!
