Tour description
London is home to and inspiration for some of the most terrifying horror stories ever written. The Spooky Book Tour brings them to life.
Bookmarked London is a walking tour company that focusses exclusively on London's rich bookish history.
As this is our only nighttime tour, we throw in a couple of ghost stories for good measure.
The Route
In this 90-minute tour, you'll walk in the footsteps of the creators of Frankenstein, Dracula, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and several terrifying others.
See where Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker, Robert Louis Stevenson, Dickens and others took inspiration to craft some of the most macabre and terrifying ghost stories ever put to paper.
We begin in the heart of London's legal district and conclude by a depiction of the decomposing corpse of one of the city's greatest writers.
The route is gentle and accessible. We begin the tour outside the Shakespeare's Head pub on Kingsway which is one minute from Holborn station and conclude just across the road from Charing Cross.
Run by Bookmarked founder, Adam RW, the Spooky Book Tour is devilishly delightful and is one of our most popular routes.
