I am a cultural guide in Benicàssim and the creator of BENICASSIM GUIDED TOURS, a project dedicated to exploring the town's history, heritage, and landscape in an engaging and insightful way. The Desierto de las Palmas is one of the most unique cultural landscapes in Benicàssim, a place where nature, history and spirituality have come together since the 17th century.
In this Free Tour we will explore the surroundings of the Carmelite convent, learning about the origin of this enclave founded as a space for spiritual retreat.
We will discover the meaning of the “Deserts” within the Carmelite tradition and how this territory was shaped as a place of contemplation and religious life.
During the visit we will learn about the convent and its architecture, the hermitages scattered around the area, the history of the Carmelite order and the contemplative life that developed in this place.
We will also talk about its historical heritage, its evolution over the centuries and its relationship with the territory of Benicàssim.
The tour also allows you to understand the natural and cultural value of the Desierto de las Palmas, with viewpoints from which you can appreciate its unique landscape between the mountains and the Mediterranean.It is an experience designed to discover this place with a deep look, understanding its history, its heritage and its cultural significance.
