Tour description
This tour is truly special. We will delve into the history of magic and magicians in Barcelona from the second half of the 19th century to the mid-20th century. During this period, the city witnessed the presence of great magicians, both national and international, becoming a capital of magical culture almost on par with the great European capitals.
We will see l'Apotecari Màgic, an old school of magic that was once a pharmacy. We will return to the place where the Magic Hall of the Catalan magician Joaquim Partagàs was located, on La Rambles. We will follow the trail of the shoeshiner Fructuós Canonge, who worked in Plaça Reial and also became an internationally successful magician. We will discover a wonderful shop of magic, juggling, circus, and giant heads that represented magicians: El Ingenio, on c/ Raurich. We will learn how the first association of magicians was created. And we will visit one of the oldest magic shops in the world that is still open: El Rei de la Màgia... And during the tour, at some stops, you will be able to witness some old magic tricks performed by me.
This tour is free to pay (everyone pays what they want at the end of the tour).
