The Free Tour of Chinatown, Little Italy, and SoHo begins in Chinatown, a vibrant neighborhood that sprang up thanks to the arrival of Asian immigrants seeking new opportunities. During the tour, we'll discover their traditions, the challenges they faced, and the rise of the Tong, organizations that marked a pivotal moment in their history. Today, it stands out for its bustling commercial activity, with markets, shops, and street vendors that reflect its Cantonese heritage.
Next, we'll head to Little Italy, a historic enclave founded in the late 19th century. Although it now occupies only a small part of its original area, it still retains the charm of its past in iconic pastry shops and the facades of some buildings. We'll also learn about the stories of the great Italian Mafia families—like the Gambinos and the Colombos—who left their mark on these streets.
The tour ends in SoHo, famous for its cast iron architecture, its exclusive boutiques and its great real estate prestige within New York.
