Free tour West Belfast: peace walls, conflict and consequences
Dia duit (hello in Irish Gaelic)! My name is Elisabet, I'm from Barcelona and I'm finishing a master's in conflict transformation and social justice in Belfast.
My interest in the city has led me to want to share it with more people, which is why I organize a political free tour in West Belfast. You will be a maximum of 5 adults on this tour. I will share with you everything I have learned in the master's, as well as interviewing people who lived through the Troubles and had an important role in them.
The tour starts at the entrance of An Lon Dubh café (30 Divis St). There I will give an introduction about the Troubles. Then we will head towards the Divis Tower, a building full of history. We will continue along Falls Road, where we will see several murals and the wall that divides the republican area of Falls Road from the loyalist area of Shankill Road (did you know there are still about thirty walls throughout the city?). Next, we will go to the Bobby Sands mural and also see two of the memory gardens. We will pass by the Clonard Monastery and I will recommend a very interesting local museum.
I will focus on whether Northern Ireland is a post-conflict society or still in conflict, on the walls that divide unionist areas from those pro-Irish reunification, and on Irish Gaelic, among other topics.
Finally, I will recommend pubs and restaurants in West Belfast and the center, museums, and other places in Northern Ireland. Oh, and I will teach you some words in Irish!
The tour lasts 2 hours
Available in Catalan and Spanish

Guiding since 2021Hi! My name is Elisabet, and I've been living in Belfast since September 2025. I'm currently studying for a master's degree in conflict transformation and social justice. I organize free walking tours in Catalan and Spanish in West Belfast. I'll share everything I've learned during my master's program, while living in this fascinating city, and through interviews with people who experienced the conflict. I'll also teach you some Irish Gaelic words and give you unique recommendations about the city. Slán!
